Margaret Laurence (1926 - 1987)


     Born in Neepawa, Manitoba, Margaret Laurence became a central figure in the Canadian writing community that she famously dubbed “the tribe”. She published 10 books, including her most popular novels A JEST OF GOD and THE DIVINERS, the pages of which were used for her bust. (The scarf pattern is made up of the songs Laurence wrote, with lan Cameron, for her character, Jules Tonnere).
