Archibald Lampman (1861 - 1899)

Widely regarded as Canada's finest 19th-century English-language poet, Archibald Lampman was a member of the so-called “Confederation” group of poets. His reputation stands to this day. He was a master of the sonnet, and his nature poems abound in vivid pictures of the Canadian landscape. His bust is finished in the pages of LYRICS of EARTH – SONNETS and BALLADS, compiled by his great friend Duncan Campbell Scott and published posthumously.
